I
grew up in Bedfordshire and was educated at The
Cedars School, going on to Bedford College after A
Levels to do an Art Foundation Course and then to
Kingston University, where I
received a B.A. (Hons) Fine Art.
My
interests lie in animals, conservation and travel. I
have always been fascinated by animals as well as
the mythical, fantastic and magical. Animals
are my greatest interest and the main subject of my work,
particularly the big cats and other large wild
beasts, tigers being my favourite of all. I
love the majestic independence of
tigers and in fact all cats, including our domestic
felines.
I
use oil, gouache, photography and screen print to
display my work. As well as animal portraiture I am interested in people and like to find ways of
capturing personality and
character in a painting.
Last
year I was in Africa where I spent some time at the
Selati Game Reserve, working with lions, and then
with the Save the South China Tiger Foundation and
finally at the Lory Park Zoo, where I did a wall
painting for their new cat enclosure.
I am currently living and working in Australia. |
